木卡空间 MUKA SPACE

木卡空间是马来西亚的一家专营戏剧制作、剧场演出、戏剧人才培训与艺术出版的文化公司，由颜永祺博士与颜永祯创立于2013年。木卡空间提倡“让生活艺术化”的理念，相信人类的优质生活离不开艺术，力图让更多人实现“艺术化生活”。木卡空间在初创期间致力于制作与呈现高质量的舞台精品、培育剧场导表演与视听觉艺术家、促成艺术跨界合作及进行国际艺术交流活动。木卡空间现今共设有四大核心版块: 木卡精品、木卡精酿、木卡精训及木卡公益，为马来西亚戏剧艺术打造一个系统且完善的艺术生态。

木卡精品——制作与演出的《经典新绎》系列、《别让TA知道的事》新生代导演系列、《旅行剧场》国内外巡演系列、《触动城市》文旅音乐剧系列至今已演出千场，海内外欣赏观众约3万余人，荣获50多个艺术大奖，成为口碑极佳的戏剧品牌。

木卡精酿——为配合2019年马来西亚中文戏剧诞辰一百周年纪念而启动的“木卡精酿艺术系列丛书”，计划在五年内出版十本戏剧类专业丛书，丰富本地的戏剧学术研究，并达到戏剧普及的目的。现已出版的著作有《舞台上的独行者》《人人皆演员》《俄狄浦斯的微笑》《将话剧进行到底》《寻找梅宁根公爵》《在想象的情境中真实生活》《世界皆剧场》《留一条线索寻觅过往》八册。

木卡精训——致力主办“艺术类工作坊与专家讲座”，提升本地艺术从业者的职业技能、开拓艺术国际视野，与国内外优秀艺术家进行艺术交流与学习，真正做到与世界戏剧接轨。已举办的工作坊及海外专家讲座有：“解锁导演的密码”、“解锁表演的密码”、“中外剧本赏析”、“让演出产品变成畅销产品”、“疫情下的新剧场模式”、“处理经典作品中的台词表演"、“导演创作实践谈话录”、“即兴喜剧“、“叩开表演的大门”、“塑造经典剧目的角色”、“识破表演的十大误区”、“迈向创作型演员”、“窥探导演秘笈”、“一网学尽方法派”等。

木卡公益——筹办的免费艺术活动包括：校园艺术讲座、线上艺术课程、线上经典作品点播、疫情公益音乐视频、援助弱小企业计划等，希望能够为弱势群体提供精神与实际的支持，回馈社会。

MUKA SPACE is a multi-award winning theatre company founded by brothers, Beijing-based Dr. Deric Gan and Malaysia-based Easee Gan, in November 2013. MUKA SPACE’s main objectives are to produce groundbreaking Malaysian theatre and encourage cross-disciplinary performances as well as more collaborations between artistes from different fields locally and internationally.
MUKA SPACE has staged a host of award-winning plays, both original and adaptations, such as Dear Elena Sergeevna (2012), Fiery Family (2014), My Husband’s Wedding (2014), The Dawns Here Are Quiet (2015), Richard III (2016), Peking Man (2017) and The Ring of the Nibelung (2018). It also created a famous brand of original short play series called #dontlethimknow which features a different theme each year - William Shakespeare (2016), Fairytales (2017), Chinese Literature (2018), Usman Awang and Joe & Faridah (2019) and Ghostly Tales (2020).

In conjunction with Visit Melaka Year 2019 and with the support of the Melaka state government, MUKA Space was invited to work with Panggung Bangsawan Melaka to come up with an 18-month project that resulted in the premiere of “RASA Melaka The Musical”. The MUKA Space RASA-CITY Series is a cultural window allowing tourists a peek into Malaysian cultures. “RASA Melaka The Musical” is the very first production of the series, making the ancient city of Melaka its very first stop. The role Melaka plays in Malaysian culture and history is undeniably important, considering it is one of the first stop for tourists coming to Malaysia.

MUKA SPACE also the co-founder of Malaysian Puppetry Association with Malaysian leading puppetry company, PuppetKu’s Theatre Malaysia.
